First of all, in physical awakening we reach a point in our consciousness when we are no longer satisfied with only lying in bed. We are tired in just lying . Our entire body is telling us to grow up. The sign here is that the uneasiness we believe like we lie in bed. This uneasiness gently pushes us to awaken.

So in addition, in religious awakening we eventually become aware that we're no longer met with the condition of our spiritual life. Our spirit is telling us to move on. This is the indication of religious uneasiness. We are not satisfied with our state of spirituality. We want to rise above our current level of spirituality.

Secondly, in bodily awakening the light being shed over our eyes from the early rays of the sun (when we're not sleeping in a room closed to incoming light) would activate the nerves around our head to inform us it is morning and that we need to wake up and do our work. The sign here is that the flash of light within our face, first faint, but it gets brighter as the morning goes on.

So also in spiritual awakening the light in the Spirit who brings to birth all other spirits would shine on our spirits to indicate us that it's already the dawn of our religious life and that we've got work to do. The sign here is that the validity of the Spirit falling upon our understanding, telling us that it is time to awaken from our spiritual slumber and rise up to do the work he's delegated for us to perform.

Thirdly, in bodily waking we wake up due to our understanding we have planned already a work to be done throughout that day. Usually during the night before we sleep we're thinking of our job the next day. So when morning comesour mind remembers this work and we are led to wake up to perform this job, whether that function is part of our daily routine or something that's out of the typical routine.

So also in spiritual awakening the indication that we are going to wake up spiritually is our spiritual awareness tells us that there is much work to be performed for others on the planet. And so we wake up spiritually. We come to our spiritual senses, as it were.

Fourthly, in physical awakening sometimes we are awakened since there's a threat that confronts us. Someone is yelling a home has caught fire or a burglary is occurring. We're awakened by a strange noise and we rise up to find out what the significance of this strange sound is. This may be accompanied by a state of confusion.

So also in spiritual awakening we may be awakened by someone yelling at our spirits that there is danger around. This crying may come from a preacher who tells us that we're in danger of getting lost in our own lives, we are slipping away in the significance of our existence. It may come from a publication we're gently reading, telling us that the earth has been engulfed in a threat of massive percentage. The hint here is the yelling of danger heard by our souls. This threat might be the incidence of wickedness around. As a result of this somebody prays for this, a form of shouting to heaven, an acknowledgement of sins and failures. Confusion may ensue but enlightenment follows with all the spiritual awakening.

Fifthly, in an area of busy people sleeping, like in a transportation terminal or at an evacuation centre, physically we wake up since we feel somebody else has waken up and soon all the others will be awakened also. We don't wish to be the last to awaken. So we wake up. The hint here is that the movement of the very first risers out of sleep.

So also in spiritual awakening there are many others who wake up before us and we learned about them or read about them and we also want to awaken spiritually, that is. We are curious what this religious awakening is that is happening to other people. And we don't want to be the last to wake up emotionally. The sign here is that the initiative of these pioneers in religious awakening.

All around the world spirituality has become a favourite subject of discussion, particularly one of sociologists and business people. We do not want to be the last to take advantage of the new developments in society and the company world.

Sixthly, in bodily awakening we might be awakened by thirst or hunger. We feel we're hungry and we will need to wake up, rise and prepare yourself for breakfast. The sign here is our sense of physical hunger. This feeling tells us it is time to awaken. Those who have consumed alcohol the night before would feel hungry in the morning. A cup of cold water or another round of alcoholic beverage is what they crave for, now they are alcoholics.

So also in spiritual awakening we feel spiritual hunger or religious thirst, our spirits are hungry for better things in life, not only more of this world's goods like wealth, or physical pleasure or fame. Our spirits are longing for those values that ultimately matter, such as enduring love, surrounding care for the environment, compassion for the disadvantaged in existence.

Seventhly, if we're on an excursion or field trip on a high mountain we may be awakened by a desire to see the beautiful view . We can hardly await the first streaks of dawn to reveal the beauty of the plain before us.

So also in spiritual awakening we may have started an adventure in the walk of the spirit and we can barely await the unfolding of the spirit before our eyes and so we wake up spiritually to behold this grandeur displaying its wonder within us. The hint here is the desire to consider this spiritual beauty inside us. We would like to experience our oneness with other people and the whole universe.

Thus these are the seven signs of a religious awakening:

1) spiritual uneasiness, dissatisfaction with our state of spirituality;
2) the enlightenment of the Spirit coming upon us, enlightening our existence;
3) the awareness of job for others, not to our own just, a sense of mission;
4) the yelling of hazard heard by our souls;
5) there's an initiative of other people in spiritual awakening;
6) the sense of spiritual thirst or religious thirst, our souls are hungry for greater worth in life;
7) that the desire to consider the religious beauty within us.

Now these seven signs can be experienced individually or socially. It may be gotten by one individual or by a group of persons or even a whole country. A nation can be so dissatisfied with the religious condition of its citizens that individuals will begin to pray for its awakening spiritually. This happened to England in the time of George Whitefield and the Wesley Brothers from the 18th century. A prophet may arise and shout that there is threat to the country or to the churches. And pockets of individuals hear this yelling. This happened to A. W. Tozer, the prophet of the 20th century. Today we're profiting from the yelling of this prophet. And shall we proceed on to recount the beauty of the internal consciousness shown to us by Eckhart Tolle of our own times, when concurrently more than two million individuals participated in a seminar series last 2008 hosted by Oprah Winfrey across the Internet regarding the coming forth of a new earth, dubbed as"the first world teaching seminar, free of charge, on the internet!" ?

Spiritual awakening is occurring all around us. The signs are all there! Woe to the person who goes on sleeping in these exciting times of the Spirit.
