LED Christmas lights have been widely accepted as one of the many Christmas light options available to consumers. However, the concept of LED was really discovered a few years ago. Christmas lights are a new application for LEDs. Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are first used in commercial applications. There is a real history behind LEDs, and their current (and in recent years) impact on the Christmas lights industry.

In 1907, a British experimenter named H.J. Round received the first report of a light-emitting solid-state diode. However, no further research was conducted at the time.

A red LED light source was developed in the 1960s and used for commercial purposes, primarily for indicators on equipment. At this time, the brightness level is low.

The red LED of the 1970s is now used as a replacement for incandescent lights. The light output is still low, but sufficient for laboratory equipment and electronic test equipment. Soon after, the red LED was used for TV, telephone, radio, watch and calculator.

In 1971, a blue LED was invented.

A new material was developed in the 1980s and used in the production of LEDs. This new technology is an important development in the industry. LEDs made with this new technology are 10 times brighter than before. The efficiency is also higher, which translates into energy savings. Moreover, these new LEDs have a pulse function. Outdoor signage and messaging applications benefit from this. These LEDs are used in fiber optic data transmission systems, medical equipment and barcode scanners. New color LED lights are now available, such as green, yellow and orange.

LEDs in the 1990s are now widely used in a variety of colors, including amber, yellow, blue, white, and green. In the 1990s, LEDs were used for roadblock lights, road hazard signs, traffic lights and pedestrian lights. Times Square in New York City uses them in their variable information signs, which display news and product information. Automotive applications have also been considered during these years.

1993 – LED illumination in the blue and green spectral range. Moreover, the process of realizing a white LED is achieved.

In 1998/1999, LED Christmas lights began to decorate American garlands, Christmas trees and residential exteriors.

The Christmas tree of the 2005 Capitol was lit up by LED (10%) and incandescent lights.

The Christmas tree at the 2006 Capitol is illuminated by a 100% LED Christmas light.

The tree at the famous Rockefeller Center in 2007 was 100% illuminated by LED lights.

In 2008, the Columbus Zoo in Columbus, Ohio, announced that they would convert all lights into LED lights in the next two years.

As you can see, the history of LED lights has always been one of the history of diversity. LEDs have been used for commercial applications for more than 30 years. As technology advances year by year, LEDs become bright enough to be considered for decorative lighting purposes. They are now popular not only in commercial Christmas lighting displays, but also in residential lighting displays during festivals. Christmas lights seem to be an ideal way to introduce LED technology to consumers.

LEDs represent light emitting diodes. A simple definition of an LED is: an illuminated electronic component. No high voltage is required and the light does not generate heat. LED lights can illuminate an area for long periods of time at a lower cost than traditional lights. LED Christmas lights are environmentally friendly. Once the light reaches the end of its life, the light bar can be recycled. LED lights are shock resistant, making them ideal for a wide range of applications. They are also vibration resistant and, if properly manufactured and used, are moisture resistant (note, I am not saying impervious, just resistance).

LED bulbs are directional. This means you can point the light precisely at or point to where you want to go. The use of LEDs can effectively meet a variety of decorative lighting needs. When using LEDs, residential applications are constantly emerging. Outdoor applications may include gardens, sidewalks, trees, fences, sidewalks, wire structures, trees, plaids, porches, railings and eaves, to name a few. Indoor lighting applications include festive trees, vines, garlands, doorways, windows, railings, mantels, fireplaces, children's rooms, game rooms, home theaters and more. For a wide range of commercial applications, such as boardwalks, riverside areas or just town squares, the cost is more cost-effective for cities and cities everywhere.

Cities across the country are using the energy efficiency provided by LED Christmas lights. The variety of LED lights in size, size and color means that the incredible combination and display that can be achieved is almost endless. Who is using the LED light for display?

In Ann Arbor, Michigan, all street lights have recently been replaced with LED units.

In Longview, Washington, the Longview City Council announced that their 2008 Christmas light display will use LED lights.

Companies in Boise, Idaho, are gradually replacing the bulbs on old Boise buildings with LED strings to save energy costs during the 2008 holiday season.

As of the 2007 Christmas season, more than 22 cities around the world (except the above cities) have used LED lights for festivals. Some of the larger cities include Denver, Colorado; London, the United Kingdom; Washington, DC. Glasgow, Scotland; and Cincinnati, Ohio.

The colors of LED lights available to consumers include red, yellow, orange, blue, green, pink, multicolor, purple, warm white and pure/blue-white. Whatever your lighting needs, there is a shape that makes the lighting display brighter and more vivid. Ice cubes, round, icicles, C7, C9, mini ice M5, Razzberry G12, Strawberry C6, Superrazz G25, mini LED lights, net lights and Colorwave LED Christmas lights. Quick Reminder – Christmas lights are now used in a variety of settings, not just for holiday lighting. Think outside the box to think about your next special event.
