The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) on April 23, 2020, has issued a Circular requesting to voluntarily contribute to Prime Minister Citizens’ Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM CARES) Fund to fight COVID-19 pandemic which is causing severe health and economic problems in our country.

All the Officer in-charge are requested to appraise the office of Finance Division about the total contribution made by the staff. The Finance Division thereafter shall make a consolidated contribution towards PM CARES Fund. Those who are unwilling to contribute towards this nobel cause may intimate the same to their respective DDO in writing, failing of which would be presumed that they have no objection to the deduction by April 27, 2020.
The contribution to PM CARES Fund will provide 100% tax deduction from income under Income Tax Act, 1961.
