“When the going gets tough, the tough get going...” Liftoff to Swansea, is a CrowdFunding campaign to raise $10,000 for college. The campaign aims to ease financial holdups that have hitherto blocked enrollment for a university degree.

Enter Yemi, a tenacious and determined 34-yr old. When his peers already are in middle and senior management in their careers and settled in families, he has chosen instead to resume his education and obtain his degree, after 15yrs. Resume, for he was once an undergraduate on a program which halted because he was simultaneously caregiving for his now late father – a stroke patient for 15yrs. His motivation to resume stems from a clear recognition of education as the foundation of development and a strong passion for aerospace engineering with the intent to pursue it as a career. Agreeing with him, Swansea University accepted and endowed him, enabling him to pursue his passion.

His perseverance is admirable – this is his third try for enrollment and to clear the holdup blocking his desire. Determined to succeed, he reached out on Aug 12 2013 to the global assembly to confront the challenge of paying for college. Members are invited to, like Swansea University, also support his desire to resume his education and enable him pursue his passion. As a bonus for their solidarity, participants choose and take away from a range of crafted accessories for their partnership.
