Las Vegas NV, Dr. Matthew Mortensen DC of Lake Mead Chiropractic is pleased to announce that he offers pain neutralization technique (PNT) to address a plethora of conditions which interfere with enjoyment of life. The Las Vegas chiropractor is experienced and knowledgeable in the implementation of the technique. Pain Neutralization technique is a non-invasive and non-pharmacological technique for neutralizing pain symptoms.

PNT involves gentle manipulation of the tissue to turn off the nerve-based reflexes which are the focus of trigger points and muscle pain. The technique is known to be particularly effective in the elimination of chronic pain. The method is based on the Clasp Knife Reflex (Golgi Tendon Organ Reflex) which is a defensive action that protects muscles from injury.

The method uses a particular stimulation, along with accurate positioning and light hand pressure. This combination activates the Clasp Knife Reflex, which stimulates the muscle, causing it to relax. This Procedure is able to resolve long term symptoms that were focused by that trigger point. The technique is not based on mechanical force for effectiveness, so is quite different from other techniques which work with trigger points.

Other trigger point techniques often involve pain during the therapy session. PNT uses only light pressure with the tips of the fingers. Almost no discomfort is involved during the procedure. Many patients fall asleep during the session.

PNT can be effective for neck and low back pain, headaches and migraines, TMJ and frozen shoulder. Other conditions which have been effectively addressed by PNT include sciatica, ileotibial band syndrome, tennis elbows and cervical and lumbar disc syndrome.
