Data Control Technitic to Showcase Latest LiDAR Security Developments

(1888 PressRelease) Data Control Technitic says it will showcase a new LiDAR-based security system at leading security show next year.

Hong Kong-based LiDAR pioneer, Data Control Technitic say it is looking forward to unveiling a new sensor and software security package at an as-yet-unnamed security technology event on the Chinese mainland next year as part of its continued efforts to diversify the markets in which its next generation LiDAR products can be used away from over reliance on the autonomous vehicle industry.

Data Control Technitic’s Chief Technology Officer says the firm is particularly keen to debut a system that can offer coverage of personnel and equipment in a three-dimensional radius of over 300 meters. “Of particular interest is the ability to identify objects and threats that are airborne rather than land-based”, he said.

Data Control Technitic says it has been approached by several correctional facilities keen to stop the smuggling of contraband and other illegal items into prisons by people using drones to circumvent the routine security screening of visitors.

“Our sensors can scan for airborne activity as well as that on the ground and, as such, monitoring can cover a far greater area than that possible by current security measures. Our system will expose threats that personnel might not ordinarily be able to spot especially under cover of darkness which, we’re told, is when shipments of narcotics, weapons, communications equipment and other materials have been discovered in exercise yards and other outdoor areas.”

“Once the alarm has been raised warning of an airborne threat, personnel can be deployed to ensure that shipments are seized before they can pass into the prison population,” said Data Control Technitic’s Chief Technology Officer.
