Parenting is an art and I learnt it through and bettered with my children. I now consult methods of mindful parenting to moms across the world.

The first question is - Have these so called super foods always been offered or did they recently get discovered?

Some super foods that are popular now have only recently become widely accessible from more distant places. Like rainforest superb foods, a few Asian and South American superb foods and others. These foods, like Mangosteen fruit, Acai berries, Camu berry, Gogi berries, and many more have always been available in their native places, and have only in the past couple of decades been exported around the globe.

Additionally, there are popular foods which have been until recent times not known for their nutritional and health boosting worth. These foods may have already been know for their value within their native territory but just found by the people in the U.S. recently. Or through more recent scientific research.

There are lots of foods that are being called super foods which are very common in the U.S. civilization, including blueberries, pomegranates, avocado, broccoli, kale, and many others.

These more ordinary foods are actually thought of as foods which have high levels of nutrition, fiber, antioxidants, minerals along with other health promoting benefits. Part of this reason they are deemed super food is that when consumed in great quantity or in a concentrated form they could support specific health requirements. Generally speaking just eating these foods that are common every once in a while will not provide your body their high nutrient benefits.

Another part of this history of why so many people feel they need to eat foods that are super or perhaps call particular foods super is due to the low levels of nourishment people are getting in the currently common western diets.

There was a time not really that long ago when food was naturally as nutrition rich as nature originally planned. Back in the industrial revolution, back when farming was done by smaller farms, without enormous quantity of chemicals. Back when crops were calibrated, until mono cropping took over.

Back before genetically altered foods, back before food was irradiated. Back when food was produced organically within the balance of nature. The truth is at one time we didn't require the expression organic because all food was created organically, organic food has been the traditional food. Now we must really have the term organic to differentiate between food that's grown naturally in equilibrium with nature instead of food grown with chemicals, synthetic additives, lab tinkering and other manipulations.

The manufacturing of food utilizing processing practices that dilute the nutritional makeup of the meals have caused people to grow unhealthy. People need quality nourishment in the ideal mix to be really healthy. If we would like to avoid all the illness and disorder that could come from a bad diet low in general nutrition.

In poor nations around the world people are sick and suffer from malnutrition due to their level of poverty and the lack of accessible resources. Here in the U.S. where individuals are generally well off, individuals are also malnourished. Nonetheless, it is because our abundant food supply has been taken over and manipulated to some place where the widely available food at the typical super market, quick food restaurant and else where's devoid or highly diluted of the nutrition we need.

The true history of the notion of a superb food and the explosion in the use of these foods, is mostly about today's lack of nutrition in the mainstream food supply. In contemporary culture particularly in the U.S. our wellbeing isn't being cared for. We have become a culture that only reacts to disease and illness and a scarcity of good health after we are sick. Then we are told to take drugs to chase away the signs of our disease. If our food resources were still high from the natural nutrition nature intended we'd be preventing illness and also we wouldn't urgently want so called super foods to fill the voids and openings within our nutrient needs.

The ecological toxicity that we are surrounded by is another motive super food nutrition is so important, we desperately need as much high antioxidant nutrition as we could get to fight the health affects in the poisonous world around us.

The history of why we need to eat super foods is about the nutrient quality of the mainstream food supply and the toxic environment that modern western culture has created.

There is hope, many communities are embracing locally made foods, people are reexamining their everyday food choices. People are reading the food content labels and people are incorporating concentrated super food supplements into their daily diets.

People are starting more and more to care for their own health, preventing illness and disease through eating the suitable quality, quantity and blend of nutrition and antioxidant foods. Folks are also joining together in community to switch the toxicity of their neighborhood environment which will help the cleanup of the world environment.

Super foods have become an integral tool in the movement of nutritional wellness consciousness for preventative health. Super foods act as the new personal insurance for wellness and health.
