[January 1, 2020] Dr. Anastasios Koularmanis Mary has been announced as the Director of Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. He has already worked in this school as an educator and administrator for nearly 28 years. This good news was announced by the Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in New York City.

Mr. Anastasios Koularmanis completed his graduation in English Education from Queens College in 1992. Then, he attained his post-graduation degree in 1996 in secondary education. At last, he obtained his doctorate degree in 1999 Education from the St. Johns University. While pursuing his academic career, he made it a point to pursue his professional career simultaneously.

Dr. Koularmanis started his professional career by joining the NYC Department of Education in 1992. He worked there for the following 4 years i.e. from 1992-1996. Immediately, he joined the Hicksville School District where he worked from 1996-1999. On 1st February 1999, he joined the Saint Demetrios School as an assistant principal. Within a short time, he got an increment as the principal of the school. He has been working there since then till now.

While working as the Chief Administrator of the Demetrios school, Koularmanis formed the bar for the Greek-American Education in the US. His excellent administration labeled the school as the best Greek-American and parochial school in New York consecutively. The school also got several prestigious honors and visits from various eminent celebrities. Prime Ministers, like Tsipras, Mitsotakis and Samaras are some of them.
Students graduating from his school also get admission to some of the best universities. Dr. Anastasios Koularmanis Demetrios ensures that every student gets the best education as well. Amidst an interview session, he said ‘I believe that true happiness comes from serving the people ‘. I want my students to get familiar with Hellenic education from the core.’
