When the Motor reaches a certain set high speed, the computer will instruct the solenoid valve to start the hydraulic system, push the small piston in the rocker arm, lock the three rocker arms into one, and drive them together by the intermediate cam, because the intermediate cam is more than the other cams. When the Motor speed drops to a certain set low speed, the hydraulic pressure in the rocker arm also decreases, the piston returns to the original position under the action of the return spring, and the three rocker arms are separated.



The entire VTEC system is controlled by the ECU, receives and processes the parameters of the Motor sensor (including speed, intake pressure, vehicle speed, water temperature, etc.) and outputs corresponding control signals, so that the Motor is controlled by different cams under different speed conditions.
