5 multi-pump parameter selection For fast and slow alternate or multi-actuator hydraulic systems, in order to properly match and use power, two or multiple pumps can be used to solve the problem of multiple hydraulic sources. In the selected multi-pump, the first pump should be able to withstand higher loads (pressure x flow) than the second pump; the total load of the multi-pump cannot exceed the torque that the pump shaft can withstand.
