Students that qualify for disability grants can contact Access for Students and an experienced team member will assess the student's needs. They will ensure they receive the correct assistance.

Access for Students cares about the students, they support them throughout the process from applying for their disability grants to receiving extra funds and the equipment or other intervention that they may require.

This company wants the student to be successful and receive funding to make their university life a positive experience.  Meeting the needs of the student quickly and efficiently is the aim of Access for Students.

They are available to continue the assessment of needs once the student has received notification from their funding body. An interview will be set up for students that have applied and received disability grants.

Access for Students has a team of experienced professional assessors that will welcome the student and make every effort to set them at ease as they conduct the interview. The assessment of needs will take about 2 hours to complete.

Lauren Gardener Director of Access for Students added “We have made our website as comprehensive as possible to be able to answer questions and give advice that will help the student understand what is needed from their side.”

The team at Access for Students are happy to assist with helping students understand what is required of them to receive a disability grant. It is necessary to prove that they have a legitimate claim to the grant.

Access for Students can only do an assessment of needs after the funding has been approved and to do that the applicant needs to provide their funding body with records to show their authenticity. These can include copies of a doctor or specialist's letter for physical disabilities.

For learning disabilities, the requirements are a full diagnostic report from the age of 16 years old from a psychiatrist or a teacher that holds an assessment certificate. Access for Students will help with the entire process going step by step so as not to overwhelm the student.

A student that has been diagnosed with a mental health issue would need to include a signed letter from a practicing GP or another health professional. Access for Students was formed to be a support to students and are available to guide students in the best way forward for them.

Each case has differences that need to be addressed individually it is important for Access for Students to understand what the student's needs are in a logical and thorough assessment to fully assist and complete the process and have a positive outcome.
